PAE Reviews 2.0
Welcome to the newly revamped, PAE Reviews! I spent a lot of time thinking about the direction that I wanted to take my blog in this year. I know some of you were probably wondering why there were no blog posts last week. But I took that time to brainstorm ideas and rebrand what I had already created.
Today, well rather, tonight, I’ll be taking you through the changes I’ve made. You will get a small tour of the new pages on the site. And I will let you in on some of the ideas that I have for the future.
Towards the end of 2017, I started to do a lot of contemplation. I was simply amazed by what I had accomplished in my blogging journey but to me, it felt bittersweet. In the beginning, I started blogging because I wanted to change who I was and break out of the unhealthy cycle that I was living. I never once thought that anyone would care to read what I was writing.
I started to meet such wonderful people. And I became part of a blogging community. All at once I realized, “Hey, this isn’t as easy as I thought. And I can actually do something with this.” Looking back on what was created in 2017, I want to continue to push myself to create quality content.
The mE Project & Social Media Community
The mE Project was hands down the best thing I have created and I plan to continue that momentum this year. So while I was contemplating last week, it hit me once again how important branding is. Last year, (that’s so weird to type), I made a Pinterest board, the Facebook Community, and Twitter RT account.
The problem was, all three of these things had different names. They weren’t connected in any way. Because the mE Project seems to be the underlying theme throughout, I recently changed them all to the same name. My goal and dream are to see these three sources of social media flourish.
mE Project Twitter Account
Over the weekend I ran a poll just to what kind of activities everyone would like to do. As I stated on Twitter, my goal is to use the account to have an open and supportive space for bloggers. At the moment, I am unsure if I should start doing these things now or wait until there is a bigger following. Let me know what you think in the comments.
According to the polls:
- Weekly comment swap- 94%
- Goals for the week thread- 82%
- Comment pods- 86%
- Guest post thread- 95%
- Social media follow thread- 94%
Scheduling & Honesty
When it comes to scheduling this year, I’m going to take what I did last year and throw it in the trash can. How’s that for honesty? lol To be honest this month is just going to be a hot mess. I have a lot of testing that I still need to get done. Tomorrow, I have a TILT test. Later on this month, I have an appointment to see a surgeon about my ankle. Turns out I tore my ATFL.
Last year there were days that I had scheduled to post and something always got in the way. And then I would get stressed out because I couldn’t fulfill my responsibility. To cut down on stress, I’m just going with the flow, for this month at least.
There are so many things that I wish to share, but in the beginning, I was hesitant to. This year one of my goals is, to be honest with myself and to share more. I don’t really know what that will entail just yet but we will see.
Tour of PAE Reviews
I changed the theme but I picked something that stayed true to the original. The header image features the same pictures used for the mE Project. I wanted to tie the project to the blog and this was one way that I could do that. I added shariff before and after each post. You will also see that I took ads off the blog. Personally, I found them distracting and I felt they took away from the overall message.
The mE Project now has its own designated page. On it, you can find more information about the project and how it got started. There is information on guest posting or being involved in the interviews series. You will also find links to all of its social media accounts.
The contact page has always been there. I think?
Definitely a necessary evil. I thought it would be better to give the Disclaimer its own page.
I’m really excited about this page. This year I want to put more effort into my content so I created a Resources Page. My goal is to create PDF and interactive lists that my readers can download. To get things set up I have created, Tools Every Bloggers Should Use PDF.
I think that may be it for now. Let me know what you think for the revamp and rebrand!
