Happy Monday, everyone. I have to say that this project has helped my dreary Monday outlook. I look forward to making these posts. I mentioned in mE Project| Let’s End It With a Smile that I wanted to start exercising more to the best of my ability. So today I’ll be sharing my honest thoughts about the Jawbone Up Move fitness tracker. I’ll also be sharing the workout routine that I made up on the app Sworkit.

My Thoughts

I’ve had this fitness tracker for a week now and I honestly don’t have any complaints. I was really surprised by the price, but from what I understand this tracker has been discontinued so that may be why it’s so cheap. You have the option of clipping it on to your clothing or wearing it in a wristband. I did have to purchase the wristbands separately.  I use mine mainly to keep track of my steps and sleep schedule.

The only thing that would make it better is if it kept track of heart rate. I have a racing heartbeat so it would be nice to know when it gets a bit irregular. Other than that, I think this fitness tracker is a great place to start if you’ve never had one before. If you all know of a good fitness tracker that does monitor heart rate please let me know.


 

Sworkit App

This app has honestly been a lifesaver. For a while, I had been doing a few exercises that I had saved on my Pinterest board and some that my Physical Therapist taught me. But my issue, just like always was there wasn’t any organization to it. And if I didn’t set a reminder, I would forget to do them. One day, I was looking through the App Store and I found this.

What I really like about this app is that you can customize workouts for yourself. We’re still unsure about what’s going on with my ankle so I still have the 20 minute limit on me.  Although, I do have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow, so hopefully we’ll learn something soon. Even with all of my limitations, I was able to make a workout according to my needs.

It’s a mix of 27 exercises featuring some strength, cardio, yoga, and stretching. All of the exercises are easy to do with either a low to normal impact level. As you may notice, there is a lot of stretching involved. I carry a lot of muscle tension, generally on my shoulders and back. The majority of these exercises are intended to help me relax and gain flexibility.

You can select what workout length you want through five-minute increments. I usually do one 15 minute workout at a time.


 

Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:
  • one banana
  • one cup of frozen blueberries
  • one cup of frozen mango chunks
  • one and a half cup of greek yogurt
  • one teaspoon of cinnamon
  • two tablespoons of honey
  • one cup of orange juice

    I have a Jawbone band and I love it. It counts me steps and helps me reach goals. It defo makes me exercise more.

      Me too! I had been looking for one for a long time so I’m really glad that I found this one. I think I’ll only buy another if I can find one with heart rate capability for a good price.
