#SPOTLIGHT Review| Garnier SkinActive Soothing Cleansing Milk

I can’t tell you how happy I was when I found this in the mail when I came home from lunch. I mentioned in the #SPOTLIGHT Review & Rant| Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffery Dover Self-foaming Cleansing Pads with Retinol Complex post that I was looking for new skin care products to try and boom, found one! Now, this was sent to me from BzzAgent. They will send you products just for your reviews and I think this is awesome for all bloggers and reviewers, so check it out, BzzAgent.com.

The Facts

First of all, let me just say, that I didn’t know what a “cleansing milk” was before today. So I learned something new. I had to go to handy-dandy google to figure out what that meant. But if you are as clueless as me, it basically means it’s meant to moisturize and clean at the same time.

I really appreciate that it’s made out of 98% naturally derived ingredients and that it lists them on the back, what they are, and where they come from. I’ve had some products before that I had no idea what I was reading when I looked at the ingredient list. But then I realized that it reflected badly on me if I didn’t know what I was putting in or on my body. So now I try to pay more attention to the ingredient list, and what’s listed first is usually what it contains the most of. This cleansing milk lists: purified water, coconut, corn, soybean, and rose as its first five ingredients and I’m not mad at that.

The Details

(PAE note: It took me several shots to get these photos. I’m seriously blind without my glasses and in some of the deleted ones, I kept squinting or glaring at the camera lol.)

I had on a face full of makeup today so I really put it to the test. One of my big issues about wearing makeup is removing it. I get kind of lazy when it comes to that. Usually, my eyeliner and mascara can be quite stubborn to remove and I have to furiously rub at my eyes (I know, I’m not supposed to do that). But this cleansing milk sliced through both like butter.

The directions are to apply to your skin dry, massage gently, then rinse off. I did use it twice, just to make sure I removed all my makeup. It was more of a reassurance for me than anything else. I used a quarter sized amount both times and that’s really all you need for your whole face.

The consistency reminds me of one of the Olay cream cleansers. It’s creamy, but it’s not thick, it’s almost like a lotion or a moisturizer. I do like the scent of this. When it comes to perfumes and candles I tend to stick to fruity and citrus scents, I love the smell of lemon, I think it smells quite clean. I don’t mind the scent of this product. The rose water isn’t overbearing, but it does add an air of freshness.

(PAE note: This last picture is of me, fresh-faced and blind lol.)

Final Thoughts

Do I like, Garnier SkinActive Soothing Cleansing Milk, yes I do. Now I think it will take me some getting used to because the other skin care products I use are quite harsh and this is more light and airy. I’m used to cleansers with lots of bubbles and my face feeling tight after using them. This was a completely different experience from what I am used to. But I needed something like this. As far as removing makeup, I think it works amazingly.

If you can get your hands on this, you should try it for yourself. I give it five thumbs up.
